French tenses worksheet
Six tenses in one sheet. The revision paper that shows you what students actually retained.
Single-tense worksheets measure whether students can follow a pattern. Mixed-tense worksheets measure whether they can choose one. Each question here is labelled with its tense and drawn from présent, passé composé, imparfait, futur simple, conditionnel and subjonctif, which makes it the sheet to use before an exam rather than after a lesson.

How to use this worksheet
- Use this as a diagnostic at the start of term: the answer key shows you which tense the class has lost over the holidays.
- Thirty questions across six tenses gives roughly five per tense, enough to spot a pattern without exhausting anyone.
- Drop to A2 for a four-tense version if the class has not covered conditionnel and subjonctif yet.

Questions teachers ask
Which tenses does the mixed worksheet cover?
Présent, passé composé, imparfait, futur simple, conditionnel présent and subjonctif présent. The CEFR level setting controls how many of them appear.
Does each question say which tense it wants?
Yes. In mixed mode every question is labelled with its tense, so the exercise tests conjugation rather than guesswork.
