Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Bonjour Verbs account at any time. Here's exactly how, and what happens.

From inside the app

  1. Open Bonjour Verbs on your phone.
  2. Tap Settings (the gear icon, top right).
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Scroll to the Danger zone and tap Delete account.
  5. Read the warning, type DELETE to confirm, and enter the 6-digit code we email you. That code expires after a few minutes, once you enter it, your account is wiped immediately and you can't get it back.

If you can't access the app

If you've lost the device or can no longer sign in, email support@bonjourverbs.com from the email address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll verify ownership and process the deletion within 7 days. We're a tiny team, usually it's much faster.

What gets deleted

  • Your account record in our auth system (email, password hash).
  • All your cloud-synced progress: completed levels, Smart Quiz history, streak, favourite verbs, practice progress, SRS schedule.
  • Any pending error reports or feedback you submitted.
  • Local data on the device where you triggered the deletion is also wiped, so the app resets to a fresh-install state.

What doesn't get deleted

  • App Store / Google Play subscriptions. Deleting your Bonjour Verbs account does not cancel your Pro subscription with Apple or Google. To stop billing you need to cancel through the store, see our cancellation steps. Active subscriptions will keep renewing until you cancel.
  • Local data on other devices. If you used the app on multiple phones, deleting the account from one wipes that device's local data and the cloud copy. Other devices keep their local data until you uninstall the app there, but they won't be able to sign back in.
  • Aggregated analytics events (Amplitude). These don't carry your name or email; they're stripped of personal identifiers and can't be tied back to you after deletion. We can request removal of any remaining identifiers on request.

How long it takes

In-app deletion is immediate. Sub-second on our database, and the change propagates to caches within a few minutes.

Can I get my data back?

No. Deletion is permanent and there's no recovery window. If you want a copy of your data before deleting, email support@bonjourverbs.com and we'll send an export.
